Good helpers

Aunt Shantel needed pies for church so both Harper and Ben decided to help. Harper can put them on the apple pealer all by himself. Ben was busy putting the apples into a pot and stirring them with a spoon. The pies were delicious and my mom is a saint for being able to cook with a 2 1/2 year old and a 1 year old. Thank you Grandma for teaching us how to make apple pies.

Halloween 2008

Halloween was a lot of fun. Since there are not very many people home in our neighborhood to go trick or treating we met are cousins Jill, Danielle, and Chad at their church to g trunk or treating. Our friends Ben, Kimby and Mantha came up from Provo to play and spend the hoilday with us. The boys played gears of war and the girls all played a dice game called fargle after trunk or treating. Mantha and Harper played so well together all night. I asked Harper in September what he wanted to be for Halloween and he said a blue monster so I found one on ebay and other than it being a tad big and very warm he had fun scareing people with his "monser" roar. Ben was PO from Kung Fu panda beacause like PO he can climb anywhere to get food and candy. We went trick or treating at grandpas walmart and Ben pulled a fast one on one of the employees by throwing his pumpkin bucket at him to distract the guy while scooping armfuls of candy from the bowl into his lap. Ben thought it was the best day. Its funny Ben was born around Halloween and loves it and Harpers favorite hoilday was Easter which he was born around. I think that Christmas this year will become favorite however. I was supposed to be a monster mommy but when I put the blue robe on I looked huge so I still was a monsters mommy just different. Harper walking in his cotume was so funny because of his little tail following behind him.

So eye makeup on a 1 year old not going to happen. He had rubbed that all off. The head of the monster was too heavy to wear. If you look to the left or Rusty you can see the elephant pumpkin I carved. cute.

Picking out Pumpkins

We went up to the Fruit stands in Willard a few days before Halloween to pick out our pumpkins. The boys loved it. Harper ran around until he found a big Indian corn which he calls rainbow corn then had to have it with him the rest of the day. Ben was smiling the whole time we were there and would drum on the pumpkins. Rusty wanted a giant pumpkin because he watched a pumpkin carving contest on the food network and was inspired. His creation turned out really pretty cool.
