Singing Christmas songs

Christmas in Provo

We went to Provo this weekend to have Christmas with our friends Ben, Kimby and Mantha. We had a blast they cooked a big feast of ham and Christmas potatoes and homemade rolls and jam delicious. Harper and Mantha are a couple months about and are glued to each other the whole time. Little Ben wants to play with the big kids so bad but they don't really let him. Soon Kimby will have a little boy then Ben will play with him instaed of climb up and down the stairs. We celebrated Christmas with them. Kimby made all us girls these really cool gifts I can't say what they are in case Chelsea reads this. It was great we had a lot of fun. Harper asked if he could stay at Manthas house. He already wants to move away with his friends.

Visiting Santa at "RUff Ra's" Walmart

Santa came to Grandpa Clair's "Ruff Ras" Walmart. WE went to visit him and tell him what we wanted for Christmas. Harper had to show him this reindeer toy. Harper was very excited to see him and only a little scared. Benjamin was not really for it, lets just say he sat on his lap but clung to mom as tight as he could. No tears from Ben so thats good. We know him! Santa that is really well and so Mommy was a little nervous that the boys would recognize him, which they did but only as Santa. Look at my eye I'm winking. whew. So I am going to post a video but I forgot to stop it for a minute so it kind of films some ceiling for a little bit.

Thanksgiving 08'

We celebrated Thanksgiving with our cousins in Evanston WY. We did the traditional olives on our fingers. The amazing picture of all 3 2-3 year olds smiling nicely with the olive hand did not work out very well so this is the best we got. Then the little cousins started a band that was pretty good. I can't teach them any Bon Jovi songs because I still have a ban on trying to cover them since nevermind I don't want to talk about it. Anonymous rocks! It was fun. The highlights besides the band was looking over the ads and deciding what sales we needed to get to. I left at 5 am and stood in line at Target and got everything I wanted and some impulse things as well.

Harper is not bad at the drums gets it from his mom. lol. Ben had a go at singing but was still too little the big kids didn't let him play hopefully next year. Ben did like going up and down the stairs which is his new trick lately.

Good helpers

Aunt Shantel needed pies for church so both Harper and Ben decided to help. Harper can put them on the apple pealer all by himself. Ben was busy putting the apples into a pot and stirring them with a spoon. The pies were delicious and my mom is a saint for being able to cook with a 2 1/2 year old and a 1 year old. Thank you Grandma for teaching us how to make apple pies.

Halloween 2008

Halloween was a lot of fun. Since there are not very many people home in our neighborhood to go trick or treating we met are cousins Jill, Danielle, and Chad at their church to g trunk or treating. Our friends Ben, Kimby and Mantha came up from Provo to play and spend the hoilday with us. The boys played gears of war and the girls all played a dice game called fargle after trunk or treating. Mantha and Harper played so well together all night. I asked Harper in September what he wanted to be for Halloween and he said a blue monster so I found one on ebay and other than it being a tad big and very warm he had fun scareing people with his "monser" roar. Ben was PO from Kung Fu panda beacause like PO he can climb anywhere to get food and candy. We went trick or treating at grandpas walmart and Ben pulled a fast one on one of the employees by throwing his pumpkin bucket at him to distract the guy while scooping armfuls of candy from the bowl into his lap. Ben thought it was the best day. Its funny Ben was born around Halloween and loves it and Harpers favorite hoilday was Easter which he was born around. I think that Christmas this year will become favorite however. I was supposed to be a monster mommy but when I put the blue robe on I looked huge so I still was a monsters mommy just different. Harper walking in his cotume was so funny because of his little tail following behind him.

So eye makeup on a 1 year old not going to happen. He had rubbed that all off. The head of the monster was too heavy to wear. If you look to the left or Rusty you can see the elephant pumpkin I carved. cute.

Picking out Pumpkins

We went up to the Fruit stands in Willard a few days before Halloween to pick out our pumpkins. The boys loved it. Harper ran around until he found a big Indian corn which he calls rainbow corn then had to have it with him the rest of the day. Ben was smiling the whole time we were there and would drum on the pumpkins. Rusty wanted a giant pumpkin because he watched a pumpkin carving contest on the food network and was inspired. His creation turned out really pretty cool.

Part 2 Ben and Rusty's Birthday

Ben and Rusty's birthday part 1

Since Ben now shares Rusty's birthday this will have to be a couple of blogs. Not to mention that Ben is so freakin' cute with his three tooth smile that we took a million pictures. I thought that I would start out with a video of Ben blowing a Birthday horn.

New kitty

One thing about Grandpa Clair working at Walmart is that occasionally people give away kittens out front. Needless to say he was roped right in. So we have this new little kitten that Harper named Candy Corn Halloween Candy. He is pretty cute and Harper has been attached to him since he first saw him.

Lagoon

We went to Lagoon for Ben, and Rusty's birthday and for UEA. It was a blast. Harper liked all the rides in kiddie land but his favorite was the tilt a whirl which he rode twice. Ben liked the merry go round and rode that over and over I think 5 times before he was done and out for the night. Naps do not really work at Lagoon. When we were standing in line for the kid boats the lady behind us bought a ice cream cone for her kids and Ben kept reaching for it and licking the air waiting for his turn. He was so funny trying to steal the ladys ice cream that Rusty bought him his own. That made Lagoon for Ben. He only has three little teeth and if you look close you can see his top tooth in his ice cream shot. Harper asks everyday if we can go to Lagoon. We look foward to next year at Lagoon.

Ice Cream

So we took the boys to Farr's ice cream in Ogden for the first time tonight. Why would we bring a camera its not like we are both photographers and this was a first trip somewhere. So you will just have to trust us that the boys were freakin cute. Harper got playdough ice cream and loved it. They put it in a cup with a cone on top so he ate the cone first then the ice cream. Ben shared mommys rocky road ice cream and yoinked Harper's cone. Of course Harper got it back from Ben. Ben thought that ice cream was awesome. He had it all over is face but was still cute. Mommy also got a carmel apple that she shared with Harper. Harper thought it was funny that an apple was hiding under the carmel. It was fun to hang out as a family.

Its been 6 years

Hey everyone so we have fallen behind on our blog and this isn't exactly the one I wanted to get back with but I needed to talk about this for a minute. It is crazy how fast time goes by. 6 years ago today our cousin Daniel was killed. I still remember where I was when I got the call. The feeling of hopelessness. Memories of Daniel flooding through your head as the world stands still. So many great things have happened since then but I'll never forget our Daniel. To Daniel our Corny King we miss you and will be with you again. Love your friends and family.

I, I, I .. Mamma Mia!

Ok, now for my review on this Movie. From the previews you see it as just your average "chick flicks.'' And I find myself really enjoying most chick flicks that come out.

April asked me yesterday if I would like to go see this "great movie" with her and I was pleased to join her and see what was so good about it. I had just seen a movie with way way way to much down time and I needed some that she said "doesn't have that down part that you hate in it." Now I understand that almost all movies need that part of the film at around 3/4 of the way through and respect that part of the "rules" of making a film. But this movie may have had one, may have not. I dont think I would have been able to notice if it did and here is why...

Ok, picture a department store... Now you see the woman's clothing section? We are going to call that, "a chick flick." Ok, now you see that bra section with-in that section? That is this movie! And guys you know that feeling you get, no matter how "mature and "in touch with your sexuality" you are, that feeling when you walk through the bra section? Well get used to it if you are watching this movie, but this time you have women all over the room and they will get more empowered as the movie goes on.

Now guys, picture your "hottest" female actress... got it? Now make her sing and take her shirt off. Nice huh? Now what if you have 20 ladies from early adult-hood to some that were here before your mothers were (needless to say the theater smelled like baby powder and lady speedstick.) Now that moment you had with your actress? They had it about 20 times in the movie, not just taking shirts off but, but, I dont know what it was but they loved it and cheered and would have gone up with one doller bills and put them in slots in the screen if there were any.

I enjoyed this movie though despite all that, but anyone would have enjoyed anything if it made them feel like they had novicane being rubbed on their brain for 108 minutes! They looked like they had sooooo much fun in making this movie and Myrel Steep does great (although I think she was required to stay on the crack pipe during filming to pull off such weird energetics) and the other main actress, her daughter in the movie, does a great job as well! And guys, if you are going to this movie with your wife/girlfriend, now worries, Amanda Seyfried (the daughter getting married) makes it all worth it :D

Go watch it! At least it will be funny even if you dont like it. I know that doesnt make sence but trust me. You will understand if you see it.

Oh and did I mention that it was a Broadway musical? Well I thought I should cause the PREVIEWS DON'T!

Ben's 9 month check

We took little Ben to his 9th month check. He is really tall 30 inches and weighs 20.5 pounds. Poor kid has not been himself lately but the doctor has been so busy that when we finally made it in he had ear infections in both ears. He is on medicine now and will feel better soon. Harper picked out a toy miniature scooter for Ben as a reward for getting a shot. The boys love each other and just laugh together.

4 years together

Rusty and I went out on our first date 4 years ago on August 14th. On our first date we went shooting not with guns but with our cameras. We drove all over and took pictures of wildlife and nature. Well I took pictures of more important things like my shoe and Rusty and my watch you know the good stuff. It is crazy to thing that we have been together for so long but it has been great. I love Rusty very much and I am glad that we are together forever. To celebrate our 4 year anniversary I drug him to MAMA MIA! I really liked it Rusty really likes me. It is pretty intense but I love how everyone just has fun in it. We had a lot of fun and laughed pretty hard.

graveling the driveway

Today Grandpa took Harper in the truck to pick up a truckload of gravel for the driveway. Harper got to watch the tractor scoop up the dirt then dump it in the back of the truck. Both Boys liked to play in the truckload of rocks. Ben liked to eat them so he did not get to play too long there. Harper helped Grandpa shovel the rocks onto the driveway.

Weekend with Mantha

Hey everyone this last weekend we surprised our friend Kimby with an early birthday party. Kimby, Mantha and Ben all came up from Provo to spend the weekend with us. Kimby and Mantha came up Thursday night and we made a weekend game plan. Friday we helped Chelsea move her parents into thier new house then went to Fat Cats. Ben came up later and we had hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill. On Saturday we went to the Watie Park again with everyone but Rusty he stayed home and decorated for Kimby's surprise party. Harper made Monny, aunt Shantel, Uncle dd and Uncle Ben jump off the high dive. It was scary for Monny but harper said, "good job monny," and ran off to play. The watie park was fun. When we came home Rusty had a big birthday sign hung up and had set up the cosco Princess cake. It was a fun weekend.

Harper is probably a fish. He loves the water so does Ben. The only thing that holds Ben back is that darn it he still can't walk and he gets soo mad. Anyway His aunts Shantel and Heidi taught him how to plug his nose and go "under" the water. This is a cute video of him playing in his pool yesterday.

The Watie Park (North Ogden Pool)

On Monday Monny got a pretend day off so The boys, monny and Aunts Heidi, Shantel and Chels went to the "Watie Park" Harper's 2nd favorite place next to Fat Cats. We played all afternoon. Ben likes the fire hydrant because he can stand next to it and be big. Ben also likes to crawl in the water. Harper likes to jump into the big pool and kept asking to go on the diving board. I told him that he was still to little to jump from the diving board and he said monny catch me. I said that when you jump off the diving board monny can't catch you so you will need to grow a little bit first. Harper loves it at the Watie park they have this ramp that he runs then slides into the water. The first time we went there I through him down the slide so he is not too fond of that. If you ask him if he wants to go down the slide he says blub blub blub harpie hate slide. We had ice cream after and Harper is so good to share with Ben. When they closed Harper says no take nap in watie and went and layed down in the most shallow part of the pool. We bribed him with more ice cream and said night night to the Watie park.
