Vacation Highlights

Our week long family vacation ended tonight and I wanted to share some of our highlights with you. I asked the Boys to help me remember what we did while we were on vacation and Harpers first memory was playing in the leaves.

We started our vacation by going out to dinner with Grandma Connie and Grandpa Carl to El matador in Ogden it was delicious. Then on Monday the first offical day on Vacation we cleaned the house and got Harpers big boy bed all ready for him. We pause in the middle of cleaning for a lunch break at Costa Vida next to the surfers and fat cats. Of course we had to go to Fat Cats which the kids love. Harper and mommy and daddy decided that he was done with diapers and was going to wear big kid underwear from now on and go on the potty. He has done so well and we had to leave fat cats early so he could go potty at his house.

On Tuesday Harper went to his school and Ben went shopping with mommy and Daddy to Target where we found Harpers "alligator" really its a dragon costume. We also decided because Ben bite me twice that he was going to be Stitch from Lilo and Stitch for Halloween, they are kindred souls.

Wednesday Rusty and I were able to have a day date we went to a movie which is a treat for us. We saw Couples retreat which was really good. Then we took a drive up the Canyon to go fishing and on a picnic but hunting season isn't a good time to go on a picnic in the woodenisms. So we just pulled over to the side of the road to take pictures and so I could give him his new camera a Canon 30D. I haven't seen him since. lol.

When we got back from our day date we went up to the fruit stands on the old highway in Brigham and picked out our pumpkins. They had a mini corn maze for kids. Harper had to roll his pumpkin becasue it was so big and Ben just pointed at the one he wanted. On the way home Harper saw an amazing sunset over Willard Bay and said "oh wow that sunset is beautiful I need to take a picture of that." Grandpa pulled over on the side of the road and let him take a picture of his beautiful sunset.

The rest of the vacation goes into Rusty and Bens birthdays so I am going to put them on other posts.

The Utah State Fair

Rusty entered 2 16x20 photographs in the Utah state fair this year. He entered in the Professional division which he has entered and placed in before. He didn't place but it was still cool to enter. There were a lot of great entries. We went to show Harper one of Rusty's entries that was of him and he thought that was neat to have his picture on display. Really Ben was more excited he spotted Harpie from across the room and ran right over to the picture and said "That Harpie I see Harpie." We then walked through all the animals exhibits except we couldn't find the Chickens. We all got to pet a baby cow which was so cute. When we saw the dairy cows Harper says to me "Mommy see those peepees on those cows they are milk peepees." Kids are awesome. Then we let the boys ride on the "Horseys" Ben wants to buy one. We all left wanting to buy a farm. lol. like that would really ever work, but anyway I want a chicken and cow. Rusty wants a pig and goats. Ben wants horses and Harper wants a bunny. We all love fairs. The boys are all exhausted but they had an awesome time.

Happy Family Day!

Happy Family Day. On August 17,2006 The Sessions became a Forever Family. We were sealed in the LDS Bountiful temple. We celebrate spending the day together as a family. This year we went to Fat Cats in Ogden played some video games and took the boys bowling. Then we drove up by the Bountiful temple and stopped for ice cream at Iceburg. We ended our family day at Lagoon but it was very crowed so we bought a funnel cake, churro and cotton candy. It was a great day.
Ben after he finished his ice cream said I eat it all gone see.

If they gave a prize for the slowest moving bowling ball Ben would be champion of he world. The boys would take the 7lb bowling ball and throw drop it into the lane then watch it for a good 2 minutes at least. We as in the Sessions should not by the way become professional bowlers. Ben got a 75 that was the high score. What does that tell ya.

Don't drink the water

So both boys love Lagoon but not just because of the rides. They love the water fountain in the front of Lagoon that they can play in. Harper dances and Ben tries to catch it. I still can't figure out where Ben got tonsillitis from, oh wait maybe the aids water! Little rascals.

Yellowstone

The Family at Yellowstone. It was a blast it was a fast trip we didn't decide to go until the Wednesday before but it was fun. We took over 1000 pictures because that is what we do well that and eat which we did that too. We were lucky enough to see 2 bears and an owl.

Time flys when your having fun

Ok Ok its been forever since I updated this but what a crazy summer. June has always been a busy month but this year it seems was even more crazy. David my baby brother graduated from high school on June 5th my 30th birthday. We went to Yellowstone for Davids 18th birthday. Shantel bought the family Lagoon season passes and a new swimming pool for the back yard. She wants to keep us busy during her summer break from teaching 1st graders. Then we celebrated Heidi's birthday and ended the month by going to my cousin Steven's wedding. So that was our crazy June. All of the sudden we our half way through July and still just as busy. We try to go to Lagoon at least once a week. Benjamin got tonsillitis and had a severe allergic reaction to the amoxicilln resulting in 15 canker sores in his mouth and down his throat,he cried for 22 hours. That was the 4th of July. Then Rusty went on an extreme hike with the varsity scouts in the ward down to Zions national Park last week. While he was gone we went to Lagoon and spent a few hours with Jena and her family. David got a huge scholarship to Snow college. Harper's friends Mantha and Danielle both had birthdays at 2 different water parks both were so much fun the boys loved both parties. Harper and Ben have both been playing and working hard this summer helping in the garden, going to Lagoon, playing in the pool and getting in trouble the good dirty muddy boy kind of trouble. Oh ya and in the middle of all this excitement I'm still working a million hours at Ritz/Inkleys and we are trying to get Harper potty trained. Ben thinks he can go on the potty too. Ben will probably be potty trained before Harper lol. Like I said time flys when your having fun.

The Boys

Rusty took both these shots and I love them. My boys are amazing. They are both growing up too fast. Harper cracks me up. His imagination is huge and he just brightens up your whole world with his personality. Benjamin is so soft spoken unless you don't respond to him then he will start yelling at you until he has your attention. Ben is funny because his latest response to everything is just a soft Ya.
This summer is going to be trouble but so much fun. Today Ben and I were playing in the van and I asked him where we were going and he simply responded Idaho. I know this is just a random blog but I just had some random thoughts about my boys an a small window to blog.

This is a video of Harper swimming and chasing April like the croc off Peter Pan. It was a lot of fun and this is the first time that Harper has stood in the pool without someones help!

This is Ben blowing bubbles. Right after this he put his whole head underwater, came up and was fine with it lol. Good times.

Dr. appointments

So we had some exciting days the last couple of days.I woke up Monday morning not being able to open my left eye so went to the doctor on Monday to get diagnosed with pink eye. Hooray NOT! IT STINKS! My eye is getting better that is one of the reasons I have been on facebook and blogging so much is because I have been home bound for the last 2 days with my gross blind eye. Harper said that I had boogies in my eye but he still likes me but not to touch him with my gooey eye.:(. Rusty went to the Doctor too for a routine check up and ask about the possibilities of having allergies which he does but can take Zyrtec and is good. Both boys went to the doctor too for their 3yr old and 18 month old Check up.

Harper weighs 34.2 pounds and is 39 inches tall 80th percentile for height and 75th for weight. He got a blood test done by sticking him in the thumb and was very brave didn't even cry but did need a hug from mommy.

Ben weighs 24.2 pounds and is 33 inches tall and has a big brain. He is still tall and skinny with a big brain.75th for height 25th for weight and 93rd fro head size. He got 2 shots today but all was ok after hugs and a sucker.

Silly Grandpa drove off with the car seat so we got to all walk to the doctors. Goodtimes. This is the last appointment with both boys at the same time. They had one together when they were 6 months and 2 yrs and now that they are 18 months and 3. Now they will get their own.

Rolling Easter Eggs Party.

Last Easter we continued Rusty's family tradition of rolling Easter eggs down the hill. So For Harper's Easter birthday party we went to Bountiful and had a picnic with Grandma Connie, Aunt Brittany, and Cousins Mekenzie and Marshall. Grandma Connie made homemade fried chicken and it was so good. We then had fun rolling Easter eggs down the hill then rolling ourselves down the hill. (not recommend for adults. Ask Uncle David about that.) It was a blast. We had a jelly bean cake for Harper and Grandpa Carl that was delicious.

Mekensie taught Harper last year and Harper taught Ben this year. Before we traveled to Bountiful we died 12 dozen Easter eggs. 10 for the Easter bunny to hide and 2 to throw. By the way I know the Easter bunny personally and we are still finding Easter eggs.

First Movie in the Theater

We have fallen behind because of all the happenings going on around us so I decided to try and catch up and just post from where we left off. Harpers Birthweek. We started his birthweek celebration by taking him to see his first movie in the Theater. We watched the 2D version of Monsters vs. Aliens. He watched the whole thing on the big giant screen in the loud theater and seemed to really like it. He had a straight face the whole time but didn't stop talking about after it was over for days. Now when we drive past the theater he talks about it and tells everyone that's where he went to see Monsters vs. Aliens. It was a good start to his birth week celebration.

Girls night out

For Heathers 30th Birthday I decided we needed to lose our pedicure virginity. It was a blast. I surprised her with pedicures. I was nervous like it was a first date for some reason but it was awesome. We went to our traditional restaurant Applebees then I drove her to Grassroots for our pedicures. Since it was our first time I bought her some flip flops and Capri lounge shorts just in case. She picked out hot pink nail polish and I got vampire red ( really its grandma red but they lied to me and told me that it didn't look like that.). We finally have a decent picture of both of us too. Not the one we are in the room but the close up one. Heather is cute I'm a hippo but its cool. They asked on the form if we had any foot fungus's I told them that i didn't think so and I hoped not. They didn't say anything so I think everything went well. I kidnapped Heather for a little while after and we just drove around and talked like the olden days. It was a long overdue amazing girls "moms" night out. Love you Heather thank you for over 15 years of friendship.

ice skating

For my Uncles Birthday he rented the Ice sheet in Ogden and let us all go ice skating. It was so much fun. Harpers favorite part was falling he looks terrified in the picture below but he really did have fun. Ben said he was stuck when we put his skates on. It was really cute. We finally found something that stops Ben. Harper and I crashed once he thought it was so funny all it did was prove that I'm old and bruised my knees all up. Shantel and I played Olympics and skated in a circle we are pretty good.

Today the boys and I (Rusty) went to the park. It was a beautiful day! Harper went on the smallest slide about 100 times and Ben was a brave toaster and booked it up the playground to the highest slide well over my head and down he went. It was fun trying to not have a hart attack and hold the camera while catching him going down the slide all at the same time. Here are a few pics.
